1931 Cadillac 355A Convertible Coupe

The 1931 Cadillac introduced new features that included a chrome stone guard radiator screen, single bar bumper and dual horns. The frame was designed with new side rails and the rear springs were mounted directly under the frame rails. The cooling system included a condenser tank. It also introduced hood side panels with five distinctive ventilator doors on each side. Under the hood was a V8 engine that displaced 353 cubic-inches and produced just less than 100 horsepower. The floor boards were now metal, a big improvement over the prior years. The tool and battery compartments were relocated to under the front seat. The 355 Series was similar in 1931 to the 353 Series that preceded it, though there were a few changes. The body was considerably lower and the hood was longer and featured five hood ports. To the discerning eye, the differences continued with dual horns, a single-bar bumper, and an oval instrument panel. Fleetwood, an earlier acquisition by Cadillac, offered several other styles, such as the two four-door phaeton and five-passenger version.

The original list price of this car was a staggering $2,945 in a day when a Ford Model A Roadster would set you back only $475!!! Beautifully restored in two- tone Forest Green upper body with piano black fenders and running boards set off by the pale yellow wire wheels with period correct wide whitewall tires. The gleaming chrome grill features the famous Cadillac Goddess radiator cap and low slung driving lights. Previously owned by a collector from California this car actually completed the Great American Race from Norfolk VA to Disneyland in Anaheim CA . Since then it has been lovingly kept and maintained seeing casual use on sunny days. It is a fully functional classic car ready to take home drive and enjoy.
