1931 Ford Model A Victoria

Though born in adversity, the Model A was the car that took Ford from the ranks of the simple utilitarian Model T to the zenith of an automobile with serviceable good looks. The elder Henry Ford had been reluctant to bid farewell to the venerable 'T', but once he reached accord with son Edsel (who fought to build a new car), Henry plunged headlong into the Model A project. He designed the new chassis and engine himself, while Edsel oversaw the styling which was sophisticated and derived mainly from Lincoln. The Ford factory was idle for 6 months pending a change-over to the Model A. The drivetrain was a 4 cylinder 40hp engine, 3-speed transmission setup with features that Henry had never envisioned in 1908 when he introduced the Model T. Four wheel mechanical brakes replaced two on the "T", and shock absorbers replaced leaf springs. By 1930, there were no less than 17 body styles to choose between with one of the more popular and sought after today are the Victoria with its visor-less slanted windshield, extra wide doors with folding seats allowing access to the rear seats.

This beautiful Model A Victoria has been lovingly kept and fully restored by its previous owner. It is finished in Dark Green on black fenders with light green pin stripping to highlight its unique features. The interior is finished in tan broadcloth with the dash also pin striped in the accent green that ties in with the green steel wire wheels with white wall tires. The engine fires up and runs well, the transmission and clutch also both work beautifully, propelling the Victoria down the road just as they should. The chrome and stainless trim has been fully polished and is in excellent condition further accenting the lines of the Model A Victoria body style.
